Navigator’s Note

A Note from the Faithful Navigator of Admiral Benson Assembly…

Welcome to the Admiral William S. Benson Assembly est. on July 1st, 1919!  Our Assembly is in historic Anne Arundel County, the site of the U.S. Naval Academy and the State Capital of Maryland, Annapolis.  Our namesake, Admiral William S. Benson, was the First CNO (Chief of Naval Operations) for the United States Navy.  We are proud of this fine Catholic Naval Officer and his role in U.S. Naval history.

As we enter the 2024-25 fraternal year, the Admiral Benson Assembly strives to promote respect for our country, military, first responders, and our Catholic faith. Like all Knights of Columbus, we are always pro-life from conception to natural death.

As we progress into our 2nd century of service, we continue to seek new ways to serve. We are always looking for good Catholic men to join our ranks from the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Order.

We are the 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, the Patriotic arm, and our visible arm is the Color Corps. With our berets and swords, the Color Corps provides ceremonial services during funerals, Masses, processions, civic events, and Knights of Columbus special events.

My goals are to help our veterans in need and promote our Color Corps contingent.

If you are interested in joining the Color Corp, or want more information, contact our Color Corps Commander: SK Jay Igoe, PGK, PFN [Saint Bernadette Council #11214]   Email: jayigoe  “AT” gmail “DOT” com
